BIRN Group has just appointed Flemming Juel Jensen as the new Group Director for the international foundry group headquartered in Holstebro.
The foundry group BIRN Group has chosen Flemming Juel Jensen as its new Group Director with responsibility for the continued development of the group across Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Italy. The appointment follows Claus Beier's resignation from his position as Group Director in October.
Flemming Juel Jensen brings more than 25 years of international experience from the foundry and industrial sectors, including 20 years with the DISA Group, a close partner of BIRN, where he has held senior positions in sales and business development at a global level. Most recently, he has been Global Export Sales Director at Dantherm Group and Senior Vice President at Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC), where he spearheaded the establishment of a new business unit within green energy and international service projects.
"We are incredibly pleased to welcome Flemming as the new Group Director of the BIRN Group. With his solid industry knowledge, commercial insight and human approach, we are gaining a leader who can continue and develop BIRN in line with our values. We are absolutely convinced that Flemming is the right person to continue BIRN's journey," says Lars Lüthjohan, Chairman of the Board of BIRN Group.
Flemming Juel Jensen began his career in the foundry industry as a teenager, cleaning a small foundry in Dalby after school. Since then, he has worked his way up through the industry to senior positions with responsibility for markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
"I look forward to meeting employees across the group and working together to further develop the pride that already characterises BIRN. I believe that happy employees create high-quality products and services that result in happy customers – and thus an even stronger BIRN. I am incredibly proud to have this opportunity and will do my best to live up to the expectations that come with it," says Flemming Juel Jensen. He continues:
”As a former supplier of DISA products to BIRN, I have followed the company's development since 2000 and experienced the respect that the industry has for BIRN as a company you can trust – both commercially and personally.”
He also highlights the special role of the BIRN Foundation as an important part of the group's DNA:
"It is quite unique that BIRN is owned by a foundation that both runs a strong industrial company and supports the local community. This allows for long-term investment – in both people and equipment – in a way that many in the industry envy.”

Flemming Juel Jensen is 53 years old, lives in Rødovre and holds a degree in engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He has also completed management training courses at Norican University, BWSC and the Board Institute. He will take up his new position at the BIRN Group on 17 November 2025.
