Social
A safe and inclusive workplace
Concern for people and the local community runs deep in our veins. We promote the safety and well-being of our employees, and we are committed to the sustainable development of the local communities.
We strive to create a responsible place of work for our employees, one in which they can thrive and be their very best, every day. We have a commitment to the approx. 55 TASSO employees who come to work every day expecting a safe, healthy and inclusive workplace. We are able to make a positive difference to local communities by including all kinds of people in our workforce – retaining existing employees and welcoming people with reduced work capacity and others who normally fall outside the job market – regardless of who they are or where they come from.
Actions
Health and safety
We consider health and safety of our employees at work as crucially important. Systematic safety and working environment measures are undertaken, which include risk identification, risk prevention and continuous monitoring to ensure continuous improvements of our operating and behavioral methods.
Inclusion in the labour market
Collaborating with the municipality and local jobcenter our focus is on preventing people from being excluded from the job market, improving employment rates for workers without education and the inclusion of marginalised groups via job testing and flexible jobs.
Quality education
We are committed to providing innovative and future-oriented education and training opportunities for all apprentices and students. Through education and practical job-related training, we contribute to society with productive, responsible, and skilled workforce that will take our industry confidently into the future.
Structured training system
TASSO is one of the first iron foundries in Denmark to start using a method that ensures quality and
efficiency in production, but most importantly, gives new employees a positive training experience.
Lean philosophy eliminates waste
At the BIRN Group, we continuously strive to optimise our work processes, to improve efficiency but also to further increase job satisfaction among our employees. One of the methods that both creates more overview and optimises the processes is Lean.
Partnership with Odense Værkstederne
For almost a decade TASSO has given priority to social responsibility through a partnership with Odense Værkstederne – a municipal organisation dedicated to providing job opportunities to citizens with physical and mental challenges.
Sustainability
ESG - Environment, Social and Governance
TASSO expects to be covered by the new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) from the 2027 financial year.
However, we are already documenting and mapping how we work with sustainability throughout the group.
Environment
Manufacturing of cast iron includes some highly energy-consuming processes, which is why reduction of energy consumption is a key priority to us. We systematically map and analyse our data of emissions in order to keep track of the development.
Governance
As a global company and manufacturer, we believe that partnerships are key to ensure a more sustainable tomorrow as they are key to our company’s development and success.
